Scholarships

Tuition Scholarships

The school is able to offer a limited number of scholarships to those who qualify.

  • Discoverypoint / Brenneke Alumni Referral

Please contact the school for specific scholarship information and guidelines.

Additional Scholarship Resources

There may be additional scholarships available from local, state, or federal programs — as well as private organizations and non-profits — each with its own set of qualifications and requirements. Here are a few that we know about:

  • Pride Foundation and Greater Seattle Business Association provide post-secondary educational scholarships to current and future leaders in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and straight ally community from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
  • WA State Scholarship resource: theWashBoard.org
  • Washington Award for Vocational Excellence Scholarship (WAVE) is a merit scholarship that honors the achievements of Washington’s top career and technical education students. There are up to 147 winners each year — three from each state legislative district. The award may be used at a Washington public or private college or university, or licensed private career school.Note: The WAVE scholarship FAQs specify that it is for graduating high school students, community and technical college students, and private career students in their second year of training. Since our program takes less than 1 year to complete, we reached out to WAVE representatives who have confirmed that “WAVE scholarship recipients may utilize their awards in Washington programs that take less than one year to complete.”
  • ABMP Scholarship Sweepstakes
(must be a student in a massage school covered by ABMP to apply)
  • AMTA Scholarship
(must be a student in a massage school to apply)
Tuition Payment Options

There are many different ways that students can pay for their education with Discoverypoint.

Since we’re not able to offer the same financial aid programs that larger colleges and universities have access to, we offer flexibility through zero-interest payment plans — allowing students to make payments quarterly, monthly, or even weekly. Students can also explore scholarships, state or tribal funding, or private funding through an employer.

If you are paying directly to the school, we accept cashier’s checks, money orders, personal checks, and all major credit cards.

Popular financing options to consider and explore:

  • Make quarterly, monthly, or weekly payments (see “Requesting a Payment Plan below)
  • Pay tuition in full (includes $500 discount for payment-in-full)
  • Employer tuition reimbursement programs (ask your employer what’s available)
  • Tribal Funding (for eligible students)
  • Dept of Vocational Rehabilitation (for those who qualify)
  • Grants & Scholarships (see our Tuition page for more)
Requesting a Payment Plan

Discoverypoint has partnered with Lumion to offer our students flexibility and convenience in making your tuition payments.

During the Enrollment process, a school representative will work with you to build a custom payment plan. We will explore different variables such as: weekly or monthly payments, duration of payments (6, 12, or 15 months), and the amount of your initial deposit/downpayment.

Once we’ve found a payment amount that works with your budget, you will then receive a Payment Plan Agreement and payment schedule from MiaShare, along with easy-to-follow instructions for making regular payments.

If you would like to explore different payment variables on your own, click the “Explore Payment Plan Options” button below and follow these steps:

  1. Scroll down to one of the Custom Payment Plan options
  2. Choose the frequency of payments you’d prefer (weekly or monthly), then click that option to expand
  3. Ignore the “Apply for this Plan” button, instead click the “Learn More” link on the left
  4. Scroll down to the “How Much Will I Pay” section, and play with the variables: initial deposit, number of payments
  5. Again, do not click the “Apply” button, but instead write down the variables that will work for you, and bring that information to your Enrollment appointment
Novice Class for Beginners

A Great Starting Point

Our Novice class is a full day introduction to therapeutic Swedish massage taught by one or more of our experienced faculty members.

Whether you plan to study at Discoverypoint in the Professional Massage Program or simply want to learn the basics of how to provide a good back and neck rub to friends and family, this class is designed for you.

What You Will Learn:

  • Guidelines for choosing appropriate massage supplies
  • Proper use of tables and other equipment
  • Basic grounding and centering techniques for massage
  • Proper mechanics for the “big 3” Swedish massage strokes: effleurage, petrissage, and friction
  • Fundamental massage sequences for the legs and back

Novice class cost is $100 — which will be applied towards tuition if you enroll in our Professional Licensing Program within one year. Visit our Events page to see upcoming dates and times, or contact us for more information:

Students will be practicing what they learn on each other, so be prepared to give and receive massage. Plan to bring a set of twin sheets and pillowcase, and wear clothing comfortable for movement.
